Needing space for family interaction, an addition grew from a rebuilt kitchen, providing free-flowing space, living room, upper deck, and new bathroom. Trellis-shaded windows on the southern exposure create drama of shadow and light. The addition extends the house base without conflicting with its Dutch Colonial style. Spiral stairs form a dynamic link, connecting the lower-upper decks.
